Hôtel
Dieu
Founded in 1646, the Hôtel-Dieu in Cluny was built in a plain, functional style.
Extended under the impulse of Cardinal de Bouillon, it is composed of a main building housing the chapel in the centre and on either side the two sick wards. The chapel ceiling has recently been painted with a remarkable fresco by the artist Camille Chaimowicz.
In the south aisle, dating back to the 17th century, admire the board of directors’ room decorated with a number of paintings and the Empire style Apothecary presenting an interesting collection of earthenware.
